2023 highlights: New York Red Bulls open the new season at Orlando City, where they recorded a 3-0 win in April last season. Their first home game comes a week later (March 4th) when they host the returning Nashville SC. Western Conference trips this year include to Minnesota, Seattle, and Real Salt Lake. The trip to Seattle on May 27th is followed by a game in Ft. Lauderdale against Inter Miami four days later, a cross-country journey of almost 3,300 miles. To soften the blow, they do then have three home games in a row through the month of June. They welcome FC Cincinnati on July 12th in a repeat of last year's playoff agony. Their meetings with NYCFC come at home on May 13th and at Yankee Stadium on September 16th. The regular season concludes on October 21st when they visit Nashville.

2022 summary: the Red Bulls had an improved 2022, finishing fourth in the Eastern Conference on 53 points, but they were just two points behind third-place New York City FC and third spot was very much within reach but for three defeats in their final five games. Their nine road wins were a franchise high, while the six home wins were the fewest in a full season since 2009. Lewis Morgan finished as the club's top scorer by some distance. Of his 14 goals, six were from the penalty spot. Morgan opened the scoring at home to FC Cincinnati in the first round of the playoffs, only for Cincinnati to strike twice for the win.
Facts and Stats: along with CF Montreal and Nashville, the Red Bulls were one of three teams in 2022 to win more matches away from home. Their respective records were 6-6-5 (home) and 9-5-3 (away). Their road wins included four goals at Toronto and Austin, plus three goals at San Jose and Orlando. They also scored four goals at home to the Colorado Rapids, but still lost by the odd goal. There were five games in which the Red Bulls had a player sent off last season, and their record when playing with 10 men was 3-1-1. Only LA Galaxy (14) and Portland Timbers (11) were awarded more penalties than the Red Bulls (10) last season. Of the 10 penalties, the Red Bulls converted nine, equaling the club high from 2000. Just once previously have they received more penalties, when awarded 11 in 2015, of which they converted seven.
